Laurel, Md. - Sentori, Inc., formerly ASC Billing Solutions Inc., announced an agreement with Siemens AB,
Upplands Väsby, Sweden, to provide its Sentori 3G Billing and Customer Care software system as a part of a
multi-year contract with Banverket, operator of the Swedish railway infrastructure. Through Siemens, Sentori will implement its customer management solution-a multi-service billing, data mediation and customer care platform for voice, data and content communications providers-for Banverket's SIR project (Swedish International Railway Radio). The SIR system is implemented for all types of radio communication for railway operators, stations and other vendors including voice, text and data between mobile units as well as between mobile units and fixed wireline networks. Fully implemented by 2003, the SIR system will replace all two-way mobile radio and mobile telephone systems used in today's Swedish railway system. Headquartered in Borlange, Sweden, Banverket is implementing the SIR system, which is based on the internationally approved railway version of the GSM standard-GSM-R (2G). The SIR system also includes General Packet Radio Service 2.5G (GPRS). "Sentori is pleased to partner with Siemens and support Banverket in its ground-breaking deployment of the GSM-R and GPRS systems. Sentori's unique ability to bill for these types of 'mobile-hybrid' voice and IP services positions the company to meet the billing and customer care needs of multi-service communication providers as they transition to 3G," said John Bennett, Sentori President. Siemens Project Manager Göran Redin said, "With the Sentori 3G Billing and Customer Care software system we have found a product that is well designed to meet the special requirements of a GSM-R system." Sentori 3G meets the unique provisioning, mediation, customer care and billing needs of wireless carriers offering both circuit-switched and IP-based services, and is specifically tailored to accommodate 3G applications. "For our current requirements-as well as for future expansion, the Sentori 3G Billing and Customer Care system is an ideal solution for the SIR project," said Tord Nilsson, program manager, Banverket. The Siemens partnership and Banverket implementation is the first deployment of Sentori 3G. This reflects Sentori's market expansion to Europe and Asia where the company is focusing on wireless communications providers.
